High-Low Calibration

High-Low Calibration

Extend your calibration range in your current method.

Calibrating your IC accurately is one of the most important things you can do for accurate analysis. Calibrations should encompass the expected concentration range of your samples, include four or more calibrations points and have a correlation coefficient that is as close to one as possible.

Looking at these requirements for calibration, they appear logical and quite simple to enforce, unless you have samples from many sources. Samples for varying sources provide varied analyte concentrations, which in turn, require larger calibration ranges.

At the same time, correlation coefficients of calibration curves are improved by having smaller ranges of calibration, generally a 100 fold calibration, 0.1 to 10 for example, is the accepted maximum.

So where do you find the happy middle ground? MagIC Net software incorporates high-low calibration to allow calibration over a wider range. By creating two calibrations in the one method, the ideal curve correlations for your full analysis range can be acheived. No more re-running samples. No more poor curve correlations.
